Love & Associates worked with the City of Boulder to prepare a master plan and final design of a replacement bridge structure at Broadway and flood control improvements both upstream and downstream of the bridge which could require replacement of irrigation facilities which carry water for 12 irrigation companies.

This project is unique in that an addition span of the Broadway bridge was constructed and then backfilled. This additional span will carry future flood flows down the channel when other flood control improvements to the creek corridorare made. This additional span is currently used as an approach slad to the newly constructed bridge.

Several years ago Love design irrigation diversion modifications at this same location, that removed one half of an existing irrigation dam on Boulder Creek and constructed a boat chute/fish ladder and trail underpass under the existing Broadway bridge.

This previous project resulted in recreational opportunities on Boulder Creek as well as an aesthetically improved environment.
